With what was a frustrating Superbowl experience for me yesterday, (I tried calling the chicken wing place down the street 5 times to place an order, but no one ever answered) there was some good that came out of it:
1. The Patriots lost
2. A handful of really great ads
One in particular that stood out to me was just before the start of the second half. Unless you hate sports and America, I’m guessing you’ve seen it too. If not, here is a link.
Being from Michigan and loving automobiles, obviously this ad spoke to me. Throw in how much of a bad ass Clint Eastwood is and this may be one of the best ads I’ve ever seen. Sure, it might be a little over the top, but the message that if Detroit can rebound from the seemingly insurmountable problems it faces, then anyone can. It has a long way to go, but the city and it’s people are trying– and that’s what matters.
